Pragati Resorts is just an hour's drive from the historic
city of Hyderabad tucked away in the lap of nature. The quaint
ambience of this remote 33 acres retreat is the perfect
backdrop for an intimate gathering of family and friends- or a
conducive, out of the ordinary setting for a corporate
team-building encounter.
Hyderabad: “I will have to learn Telugu now that I have
decided to settle in this part of the country,” said former
chief election commissioner (CEC) J M Lyngdoh who arrived at
his new home at Pragati Resorts. “This is a nice place and I
would like to go on hikes in the surrounding areas and maybe
interact with the people in the nearby villages, but for that
I need to learn the language, ”he said. A visibly tired
Lyngdoh arrived at his house in Pragathi Resorts with his wife
Parveen Lyngdoh and three dogs after a four-day road journey
across the country from New Delhi. “The journey was nice but
tiring. I got to see a cross section of people and places. The
roads began to improve as we reached Maharashtra and AP.”
After having discharged his duties as CEC, Lyngdoh said he
“cannot help but follow the election and political situation
in the country” but his in-terest in the matter would be
purely that of a responsible citizen. Known for his frankness
about political parties and leaders, Lyngdoh had this to say
about the ongoing election campaign. “They (political parties)
are spending far too much money on the campaign. I wish they
could find a cheaper way to do things.” Asked what he plans to
do with his time now, he said he was primarily a lazy person
and had not planned anything as his retirement
activities. |
