Promoters’ Background

The Trinity of Pragati - Shri. G.B.K. Rao an eminent Engineer-turned-Environmentalist, the author and Architect of Pragati Resorts Ltd. hailed from an Agri Family born in December 1949, at Repally, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, Graduated in Mechanical Engineering excelled himself as a Design Engineer in his assignments. as an entrepreneur way back in 1980, started MECH FAB ENGINEERING WORKS at Pimpri, Pune for the manufacture of sophisticated high-tech Process Equipments, Pressure Vessels, Mixers cum Dryers, Reactors, Heat Exchangers, Vacuum Pans, Wastex Heat Recovery Units and Solar Energy Systems Laddle furnaces (135 MT). He accomplished unique tasks of manufacturing large shells, which could withstand pressure tests and won laurels for him from multi national companies. Further, promoted the project for the manufacture of high-speed steel, an import substitute, which is used extensively in almost every engineering and metal working units.

Shri. G.B.K. Rao is a Member of the Industry Advisory Committee of the Government of Orissa, Member in various forums like Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Hyderabad Management Association, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, Institute of Metals, American Society for Metals, Federation of Indian Herbal Industry (FIHI), Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI), Hotels and Restaurants Association of Andhra Pradesh and Rotary Member & Director.

Hailing from a family of Agriculture, he has expertise in Agriculture with traditional farming and modern developments. He has been able to develop integrated farm approach. His successful handling of multitasks amply demonstrates his vision, ability, dexterity in resource management.

Although, Shri. G.B.K. Rao is the visionary behind these developments, it would not have been such an astounding reality but for his wife Smt. G.V. Kumari who is a Post Graduate in Commerce, as a Director of the Group Companies, is a blend of dynamism and experience with special emphasis on Financial Management.

Shri. Rao’s only son, Shri Ajay Chandra, Joint Managing Director of Pragati Group, an Industrial Engineer and an MBA from Australia has widely traveled abroad and using his modern technology and management skills are increasing productivity.

Shri. M. Ramakrishna, a Commerce graduate is associated with Shri Rao in all his activities of running industry and in development and managing the Green Meadows and Resorts right from its Inception.
